Drug repurposing intelligence

Perspica Labs

We turn overlooked therapeutic signals into evidence-ready opportunities.

Perspica Labs is an independent research company building a continuing pipeline of drug-repurposing and microbiome-informed therapeutic opportunities.

What we build

One portfolio. A research practice built to keep finding what others have not connected.

Each asset begins by connecting fragmented biomedical, regulatory, patent, and microbiome evidence, then challenging the hypothesis and defining the smallest credible next experiment.

This discipline produced our current portfolio—and continues to guide the development of new therapeutic opportunities.

What We Do

A compact research practice around overlooked value.

01

Drug Repurposing Intelligence

We identify underconnected links between existing drugs and new therapeutic indications.

02

Lifecycle Extension Strategy

We analyze therapeutic extension potential that originators or markets have not yet fully recognized.

03

Patent-Aware Opportunity Mapping

We map prior art, claim scope, experimental feasibility, and licensing potential together.

04

Evidence-Grade Validation Design

We design focused, mechanism- and biomarker-informed validation paths before larger commitments.

Patent-pending portfolio

28

Filed U.S. provisional patent applications.

A diversified therapeutic opportunity portfolio spanning protected assets, microbiome discovery frameworks, and off-patent compounds.

5

Protected-Asset Repurposing

Repurposing applications concerning therapeutic assets with active third-party composition-of-matter protection.

5

Microbiome Discovery Frameworks

Applications covering microbiome-informed causal evidence, responder stratification, toxicity risk, and therapeutic decision criteria.

18

Off-Patent Repurposing

Applications concerning new therapeutic uses for genericized or otherwise off-patent compounds.

Specific assets and indications are available for confidential business-development discussions.

Internal research platform

Prometheon is the evidence engine behind the portfolio.

Prometheon organizes fragmented biomedical, regulatory, patent, and commercial signals into testable therapeutic hypotheses.

Its purpose is not to generate lists. It helps us decide which ideas deserve to be challenged, which evidence gaps matter, and what the next credible experiment should be.

The same research discipline that shaped the current portfolio remains active as new evidence, new biological connections, and new therapeutic windows emerge.

Drug response layer

Microbiome Response Intelligence

Gut microbiome and metabolite signals can help explain why a drug benefits one subgroup, underperforms in another, or produces toxicity in a third.

Five filed applications support a microbiome-informed framework for causal evidence, responder stratification, toxicity risk, and therapeutic decision-making.

01

Responder Stratification

Identifying patient subgroups more likely to benefit from existing or discontinued therapeutic agents.

02

Toxicity Risk Mapping

Using microbial and metabolite markers to anticipate toxicity-sensitive subgroups before larger commitments.

03

Asset Rescue Logic

Reframing failed or discontinued assets through microbiome-informed response heterogeneity.

04

Focused Validation Paths

Designing biomarker- and mechanism-informed validation strategies before capital-intensive development.

Opportunity criteria

Scientifically plausible. Commercially meaningful. Strategically defensible.

01

Evidence strong enough to deserve a next experiment.

02

A validation path focused enough to test before heavy capital is committed.

03

A rights structure clear enough to support a serious licensing conversation.

Founder

Hongsung Kim

Founder, Perspica Labs

Strategy, bioinformatics, and a long view of the microbiome.

Hongsung Kim's career spans planning and strategy roles across information technology and biotechnology companies, including work in bioinformatics.

He founded the Facebook-based Human Microbiome Information Forum and served as its inaugural chair, helping establish a professional community of microbiome researchers, professors, and biotechnology executives in Korea.

He now leads Perspica Labs as an independent founder, bringing those perspectives together to build a durable pipeline of therapeutic opportunities.
